Veredeling begint met het zorgvuldig selecteren van ouderplanten met bijzondere eigenschappen. Met de hand worden bloemen gekruist in de hoop dat hun beste kenmerken samenkomen in een nieuwe generatie. Uit de zaden ontstaan vervolgens honderden unieke zaailingen, waarvan geen enkele hetzelfde is.

When Jan’s young adult daughters become more involved in the nursery, they will form the third generation of dahlia growers.
